Saturday 14th September was our away day to Glasson Country Hotel and Golf Club.
34 members took to the road on a lovely summers’s morning, if fact some even decided to go on Friday to be well rested for the golf . We were duly met by Fidelma who made us feel very welcome and made sure everything was in order. Lynn McCool, Director of Golf , organized the golf buggies and the result box and at 12.10 the first ladies were ready to go. . The sun shone for us all afternoon which was just perfect.. The course was tough even for the best of players but for others it was no bother, as there was some very high results. Some took buggies and unfortunately Dorothy Gray’s decided to break down around the 10th hole. An half an hour later she was back on course after Joe came to her rescue.
Before our Prosecco reception some ladies were following the Dublin/Kerry match and of course Dublin won!!
We had a lovely meal and lots of chat, followed by prize giving. Congratulations to all the prize winners. Karen Clinton won the “Birdie” prize but there again everyone scored a “Birdie”.
We resumed to the bar for more chat and drinks and it was very late when the last ladies returned to their rooms I believe!!!
Sunday morning we woke to rain and damp grey skies and remarked how luck we were with our weather.
My sincere thanks to my committee who were a great support and without them this would not have been such a successful event.
Looking forward to our next event.
