Captain’s Notes – Alvor etc.

Hello everyone,

A large group of our ladies returned from Alvor recently looking sun-kissed and relaxed after a week of glorious weather.  Temperatures were very pleasant on our golfing days and thankfully we never needed to unpack jumpers or wet gear!  Everyone looked very stylish in a variety of gorgeous skirts, shorts and tee-shirts.  The golf courses presented us with plenty of challenges – undulating fairways, deep bunkers and elevated greens, to name but a few.  Even so, we had lots of good scores and it was all very enjoyable!

Our hotel was very pleasant and set in an idyllic position next to a beautiful sandy beach. Good dining was plentiful and we enjoyed our gala dinner with prize-giving in a charming restaurant overlooking the harbour.  A good time was had by all.

My thanks to all the ladies for their support and well wishes, all of which contributed to a very successful holiday.

Back to reality!  It’s hard to believe how the year has flown by and the AGM is almost upon us.  All the details have been posted on the Notice Board for the last couple of weeks.  Many of you may not have seen the notice due to holidays and the closure of Leopardstown last Saturday, but, hopefully we will be back in action this week.

Leopardstown will be closed due to racing on October 29th,  so we have an outing to Grange Castle Golf Club .  The list is currently on the Notice Board and the cost is €14 pp.  Please join us if possible for our last away day this year.

Keep Golfing

Dolores
