Away Day As Leopardstown will be closed for racing on Saturday 20th October, we will play 9 holes on the day in Citywest Golf Club. The tee times commence at 2.12pm. Prizegiving will take place in the Citywest Hotel. If you’re available and interested in playing please put your name on the time sheet in the locker room. The cost is €17.50 per player.
Sunday 16th September saw a group of 20 members play the challenging course in Charlesland Golf Society. The sun shone bright and good scores were returned on the day. Afterwards we adjourned to the bar in Charlesland for the prizegiving. Unfortunately the chef was ill on the day so there was no food provided. Notwithstanding good humour prevailed and everyone enjoyed the day. Congratulations to the winners Mary Coyne, Dolores Brennan, Niamh Quinn and Paula Gray.
On the 1st September we celebrated a joint event – Lady President’s Day and the 20th Anniversary of Saturday Strollers.
The committee worked extremely hard and succeeded in making a perfect celebration of a very special occasion. Scorecards and refreshments in hand, a total of 73 ladies took to the fairways during the day to do battle for the magnificent array of prizes chosen and procured by Marie. These were presented on the night to the winners. Golf over, a large number of members returned to the Green Room that evening where we enjoyed great company and lovely food. Past Captains turned out in their best ensembles and gifts were presented to them as a token of appreciation of their work over the years.
Congratulations to Marion Benville on winning the President’s Prize. Many thanks to all the past Captains, members and Pavilion members who took part in the day/night celebration.
A very special thanks also to Lady President Marie, to Vice Captain Joyce and the wonderful committee whose hard work and dedication ensured a very successful and memorable event.
